When we arrived to DC they were in the midst of the cherry blossom festival. One of the big events is the Kite Festival at the Washington Monument. It was incredible. There were thousands of people and hundreds of kites that were spread out from the Washington Monument all the way to the Capital building. We had to join the fun and were able to buy Faith a Cinderella Kite. I think we need to practice our kite flying abilities before next years festival! After we went to the museum of natural history for Faith to see the dinosaur bones that she had been talking about for months. Well...when we arrived she was terrified! That's okay. We got to see the hope diamond, and the big hit was the butterfly's. We even watched a butterfly hatch from it's cocoon, It was so amazing! We couldn't stop there so we also went to the air and space museum. Also a lot of fun. The Spirit of St Louis is in the entry of the museum. Here are some pictures of the Kite Festival.
